OVER-RATED & UNDER-DIRECTED

THE BIG C is pretty good.

For a show with actual actors and actual scripts, it's pretty entertaining. The writing is bitchy enough and witty enough to drag our attention away from gemstones like The Bad Girls Club on Oxygen or Flipping Out on Bravo or any of the Housewives in any of the cities except the OC.

There's just one problem with The Big C.

Gabourey Sidibe sucks. And it's not because she's fat. It's because she sucks. HER ACTING SUCKS. She seriously bugs on the show.

How could she be perfect in Precious and shitty on Showtime??? The answer lies with the director. It wasn't Gabby that was the genius in Precious. It was Lee Daniels. And it's not Gabby that's bombing The Big C. It's whatever crappy director is directing that week. She probably won't be consistently bad, because the directors hired won't all be amateurs- but either way- it's pretty fucking annoying.

Bill Condon directed the Pilot episode of The Big C (and for those of you who don't know.. he also directed another over-rated, crappy actress, Jennifer Hudson, in the most over-rated movie of the millennium, DREAMGIRLS).

Here is a little taste of what Bill Condon has to offer, via a scene that he FAILED to direct from the pilot.

It's a good thing Laura Linney needs no direction since he clearly didn't offer any.
